With so many portable hot tubs to choose from, settling on the right spa can be a difficult task. Besides hot tub prices, there are many other considerations in play. Lifestyle, family size, weekly hours of leisure time and other factors will help determine which of our portable spas makes the most sense. But regardless of your situation – single, married with no kids, large family – Arctic Spas has a portable spa you’ll love. Here are just a few:

The Glacier is one of our most popular hot tubs, with versatile seating configurations. Spacious enough for 4 people but built for 2, it easily accommodates couples and families alike. Plus, the Glacier features 5 total seats, all at varied heights: two therapy seats, two swivel seats and a cool-down platform.

For the ultimate in style and spacious accommodation, don’t miss our Summit. This portable hot tub is loaded with luxury, including a trio of captain’s chairs, corner love seat and roomy single seat with extra foot room. Add supportive armrests and headrests, and the Summit features some of the most advanced ergonomics in the entire hot tub marketplace.

Compact yet surprisingly roomy, the Fox is a top-seller – and for plenty of good reasons! Installation outdoors is super-simple, as the Fox has a small exterior footprint. On the interior, it’s all about comfort, relaxation and rejuvenation. Made for two but able to fit three comfortably, the Fox is a worthwhile addition to your backyard or vacation home.

When it comes to spacious accommodation, soothing water jets, sublime comfort and standard-setting quality, nothing tops the Kodiak. Portable Hot Tubs – What to look for?

A hot tub is an investment, so you want to make sure you’re getting the finest quality possible. Let’s take a look at the different elements of a spa, and how Arctic Spas tops the competition in every category. Arctic Spas include industry-leading design attributes, so you’ll always receive the best hot tub at great value. Our portable spas boast innovative design, weather-proof durability and exceptional quality literally from the ground up, and it all starts with our Forever Floor.

A strong sealed base/floor

The base of your hot tub is more than just the floor. It is supposed to provide a firm footing, repel insects and the elements, and much more. This is how Arctic does the floor. It is an insulated, pressure molded fiberglass structural base, impervious to moisture and animals. It’s called the Forever Floor for a reason. No other hot tub base compares to floor of an Arctic Spa making it the perfect indoor or outdoor hot tub.

A good hot tub cover

Remember that heat rises and the most important place to insulate your home, as well as a spa, is on top. Most manufacturers offer a standard 3″ flat cover or a 4″x 2″ tapered top. At Arctic Spas we offer the thickest most durable cover in the industry. Our hot tub covers are a 5″x 4″ tapered cover that has a foam core sealed in a foil material similar to a coffee bag, and they come with a 3 year warranty. A cover will not last as long as the spas so make sure that you purchase a cover that’s going to withstand snow loads, heavy pets, children and repels moisture.

Smart Insulation

Most spas use a very inefficient method of insulation. While other hot tub manufacturers utilize foam-filled insulation, Arctic Spas takes an innovative – and less expensive – approach to keeping your hot tub water at optimum temperature levels. While typical insulation limits access to sub-shell plumbing and exposes pumps, motors and other equipment to the elements, Arctic Spas uses something called FreeHeat technology. Because our fiberglass shell is strong and durable enough to support the weight of the water, people, and itself, we’re able to insulate our Forever Floor and walls with high density foam, not the hot tub shell. This method is superior to conventional insulation, and it’s more convenient, too. Arctic Spas not only have lower operating and heating costs than other portable spas, but you’ll also have easy access to all the equipment and components.

Look at the quality of the main components of the portable hot tub. For example, the main component of any outdoor or indoor hot tub is the shell (the part you sit in). The top surface of this is usually acrylic, which is the best material for a hot tub. Most manufacturers use the same type of acrylic though so this is not so relevant. However, acrylic is not structural, it is very very thin. So it is very important to look at how the shell is reinforced to prevent cracking and warping over time. Arctic Spas does this in a very unique way. The acrylic is reinforced with multiple layers of hand rolled fiberglass. This structure is so strong in an Arctic Spa that it is given a lifetime warranty. Other brands use foam or plastic or a very thin layer of fiberglass instead. This is one of the most expensive parts of a hot tub to fix so make sure to get a good quality shell.

Easy To Repair

Machines can break down. Better quality ones last longer and better brands have better warranties and service. One thing that is often overlooked in hot tub design is how to make them easy to repair. Avoid spas with limited access to all the internal plumbing and electrical components on all sides of the spa. A good one will have access doors on all sides and plumbing that is visible and unobstructed all the way around, like this. This feature becomes very important after the warranty expires, when it starts to cost money to pay a repair person. The less time and hassle for them the less it will cost you.

Easy to Maintain

Hot tubs should be relaxing, not a lot of work to keep clean and safe. Look for advanced water filtration and treatment systems that reduce the work you must do. Recent advances in ozone, salt water chlorination, and automation technology have been made available in hot tubs. Arctic Spas is a leader in this area and have several features to reduce the maintenance, such as Spa Boy®, a system that actually measures the water quality and adjusts it automatically to keep the water clean and safe. Good filtration and ozonation systems are important to consider as well.

What do I need to do to prepare the area for the hot tub?

You need a level surface. This surface must be firm and solid to prevent uneven settling that can damage the spa. Most hot tub warranties require a reinforced concrete pad, but not Arctic. With an Arctic spa, the base preparation is quite simple. You just need to be sure that the site is sufficiently firm and level. Our hot tubs have a fiberglass “Forever Floor” that gives you the option of placing the spa on the lawn or even right on the ground.

Popular options include pavers, sidewalk blocks, timbers, washed rock, and commercial spa pads.

How do we get the hot tub into my back yard?
Typically, Arctic Spa dealers deliver your spa on its end using a pneumatic-tire dolly and roll it in through the gate. A standard opening, after the gate has been removed, is 40″ wide. Some outdoor hot tubs are up to 41″ wide, so make sure to go out and measure to ensure your opening is wide enough.
Otherwise, we’ll look at other options such as removing a section of fence, hiring a crane, or doing whatever it takes.
