HeatLock
HeatLock Saves you Money - Everyday!
The theory of hot tub insulation works the same for spas as it does for houses. House A illustrates the proper method for maximum efficiency and prevented heat loss. Unfortunately most spas are insulated like house B, with most of the insulation in the basement and the heating equipment outside! You wouldn’t heat your house like this so why your spa?

ARCTIC SPAS HOT TUBS

Ambient heat from the pump penetrates the spa shell and heats the water. In winter this heat returns to the pump area in the event of a power loss.

Arctic Spas - Superior Hot Tub Insulation
The strength of our shell allows us to insulate a little differently than everyone else. Almost all spas have insulation sprayed on the shell or completely fill the cabinet with foam. Arctic Spas insulates the full perimeter of the cabinet but leaves the shell unsprayed to allow the transfer of heat. Our HeatLock® system uses all of the heat produced by the equipment to help heat the water. Other spas simply vent this heat to the outside and rely on the heater element to do all the work. Using the waste heat to maintain the water temperature significantly reduces the heating cost of the Arctic spa. In the event of a power failure the insulated environment provides freeze protection for several days. Equipment noise is also reduced as the perimeter insulation acts as a noise barrier.
