Hot tubs have been an integral part of people’s lives in North America and Canada for the past 25 years. Humans in general have benefited form hot water bathing for hundreds of years however only in the last 25 years have we seen portable hot tubs being used in residential gardens.
Portable hot tubs in UK gardens is a very recent development really only establishing itself around the year 2000 onwards. That said, figures suggest that in the UK there are around 250,000 households with hot tubs in their gardens.
What are the benefits of having a hot tub in your garden I hear you ask? Well for starters they are lots of fun, many tubers find them a great place to spend quality time with family and friends (the new kitchen table). Using a hot tub will also give you a good excuse to use your garden all year round.
Reports also suggest that a hot tub will not only increase the value of your house but will make it more sellable. The therapeutic benefits of using a hot tub are endless, increased blood flow, relief from aching muscles and joints, reduced anxiety and stress, aids sleep and removes toxins from your body.
Arctic Spa’s are a Canadian manufacturer with a reputation for building the most beautiful, powerful, robust and economical hot tubs in the world. These four key features do not come about by mistake, an Arctic Spa has to be built to run efficiently and continuously during extreme weather conditions. Arctic manufacture in Edmonton Alberta, many of the tubs will spend most of there lives working in -45°C temperatures and sometimes even being covered in snow.
Arctic Spa’s have won many awards over the years for innovation and product quality. In 2005 and 2006 they were recognized as one of Canada’s top 50 best managed companies. They also own a growing number of patents, including their unique bearing-less rotating jets, heatlock and forever floor. In 2008 Arctic produced the first self chlorinating hot tub, this gives our customers more time to enjoy the spa and less time dealing with water chemistry.
Arctic is now considered to be a major player in the hot tub world producing 10,500 hot tubs every year. In the UK Arctic now sell more hot tubs than any other manufacturer, their UK headquarters being the largest hot tub facility in Europe based at Birmingham.
Where do we fit into all of this?
We became Arctic Spa dealers in 2005. We cover Edinburgh the Lothian’s and the Borders (we’ve been known to cover other areas when asked). We now have over 200 spas out there and we are increasing sales year on year.
In 2008 we recorded our best trading year to date becoming Arctic Spa’s number 2 dealer in the UK. It would be fair to say that Scotland has been left behind slightly in the hot tub revolution however it’s catching up fast. A common misconception is that we don’t have the weather for hot tubing, actually we have a perfect climate for it. As stated before the Canadians use their tubs all year round including during the severe winters. Any hot tub owner will tell you that their favourite time to use there spa is during winter.
Our show room is situated in Macmerry (just outside Edinburgh). We typically have twelve spa’s, gazebos and saunas on display. The showroom is equipped with a wet test centre (a private test room with changing facilities) so you can try our product before you commit to buying.
We also stock chemicals and accessories, or if you would like to try out a hot tub at home we hire spa’s to the general public too.
With hot tubs starting at just £3,299 inc vat we have a hot tub to suit every family…
